Welcome to the Tech Dad Journal
I’ve been meaning to start this blog for a long time.
Not because I have some grand plan to build an audience or become an expert on anything. If I’m honest, this is more of a journal that happens to live on the internet. A place to write things down, reflect on them, and maybe connect with a few people who are navigating similar challenges.
So, after putting it off for far too long, here we are.
Why anonymous?
People often assume anonymity is about hiding something.
For me, it’s the opposite.
Writing anonymously gives me the freedom to be honest. It lets me talk openly about the things that don’t fit neatly into a LinkedIn post or a polished social media update: the self-doubt, the mistakes, the imposter syndrome, and the reality of trying to balance a career in tech with becoming a first-time dad.
The polished version of life is easy to share. The messy middle is where the interesting stories live.
And the messy middle is what you’ll find here.
What you’ll find here
A mix of whatever feels worth writing about at the time, including:
- Parenting field notes — the funny, exhausting, confusing, and occasionally magical reality of raising a tiny human.
- Life in tech — thoughts on careers, remote work, cloud engineering, burnout, learning, and lessons learned the hard way.
- Building things — side projects, experiments, and the ideas that keep me awake long after everyone else has gone to bed.
- The occasional podcast — whenever I can find a quiet hour, a working microphone, and a baby who’s decided sleep is acceptable.
How to follow along
There are no newsletters, no sign-up forms, and no tracking pixels.
If you’d like to keep up with new posts, the best way is through the RSS feed.
It’s old-school, simple, and surprisingly reliable.
Thanks for stopping by
Whether you’re a parent, someone working in tech, or just another person trying to figure things out as you go, I’m glad you’re here.
More posts coming soon.
Assuming, of course, that everyone decides to nap at the same time.
